Teaching has been Dr.. Bowski's lifelong passion! From the age of 5, she knew she was destined to be a teacher. Dr. Bowski's career actually began in high school as a Sunday School teacher for her church. There she spent 6 years teaching the 3 year old classes. Subsequently, Dr. Bowski received her teaching degree from the University of Delaware, a Master of Education degree from Widener University, and a. doctorate in Educational Leadership from Wilmington University.
Dr. Bowski's 26 years as a teacher began at Conrad and Skyline Middle Schools in northern Delaware. She also spent 8 years teaching both elementary and middle school in San Antonio, Texas before returning to Delaware to teach in Cape Henlopen. This will mark Dr. Bowski's 12th year at Milton Elementary and she is very excited to be teaching 3rd grade!
Dr. Bowski has held a variety of committee positions throughout her career including school improvement committees, math leadership teams, technology committees, and attendance/discipline committees. In addition, she served as a member on both the Delaware Dream Team member and the National Dream Team. Dr. Bowski also wrote curriculum for Learn Zillion and was a national presenter for Whole Brain Teaching.
Dr. Bowski's teaching accolades include Encino Park Teacher of the Year 2007, NEISD semi-finalist for District Teacher of the Year, and semi-finalist for the HEB Excellence in Education Award. She is also a National Board Certified Teacher and a member of the 2016 Rodel Teacher Council.
In her spare time, Dr. Bowski enjoys spending time with her two children, Marissa and Courtney, both Cape graduates. She also operates Lone Star Stables in Georgetown, DE, teaches night classes at Wilmington University, and sells Color Street nail polish. Dr. Bowski believes life is too short to be bored!
